Golf School and Instruction

Golf School and Instruction
We all know how hard it is to master the game of golf. Many golfers spend their entire lives working on different aspects of the game in an effort to lower their score. The good news is that there are many options available depending on your skill level and what exactly you need help with.

Local Instruction
Check with the recreation department of your city. You may also find beginning and intermediate classes offered at the local community college or adult school. This is a great inexpensive option for those wanting to learn golf or improve your game.

Group Clinics
Offered by your local golf association or independent groups formed at the golf course, you get the benefit of professional instruction in a small group setting. You may also find clinics offered at golf resorts so you can take advantage when you’re on vacation.

Golf School
For the more serious golfer, you may want to look into golf school where you can choose 3-day or 5-day or week-long instruction, generally offered by one or more experienced golf instructors, and that will cover not only fundamentals but also advanced topics and on-course strategy. Plan to hit a lot of balls.

Private Lessons
The best way to get personalized attention is to schedule a private lesson with your local pro. You can work together with the pro on the things that are most important to you. This is an expensive option and generally not necessary for beginning golfers. Be sure to try one lesson before signing up for a package.

Learning the game of golf, and improving your strokes, takes time to master. You cannot pay for lessons and expect any dramatic change. On the other hand, you may be struggling with one specific aspect of your golf swing that can be easily corrected by the right instructor.

Keep in mind if you do sign up for instruction, be sure to give yourself enough time between lessons or classes to practice what was taught the prior session. You have to put the time in to get the result.

When looking to get help with your game be sure to consider your playing ability and how you learn best.
